Forty-five people have been killed after a bus crash in Zimbabwe.

The bus, which was travelling to Zambia, crashed on Wednesday night, 96 miles north of the capital Harare.

A police spokeswoman said 43 people died at the scene and another two died of their injuries on Thursday.

She also said it initially appears the driver lost control after failing to negotiate a curve.

A formal investigation is now under way.
