Puppy love: Groom surprises bride with pug on wedding day
Stephen Watt arranged for a very special cuddly guest to meet his wife Keriann.
A romantic groom gave his bride the surprise of her life by arranging an extra adorable guest to appear at their wedding.
Stephen Watt, who knew how much his new wife loved dogs, arranged for a very special pug puppy to make an appearance on their special day.
Wedding videographer John Paul Lusk from Leven Films was there to capture the cuddly moment on camera.
"Stephen is one of my closest friends, we've been mates since high school," says John.
"Keri absolutely loves pugs, she's wanted one for years. So Stephen arranged with one of the breeders they knew of to get one from a litter and he called me to let me know his plan."
On the day, Stephen pulled out a wrapped present at the couple's wedding reception which turned out to be a rubber squeaky duck.
"A duck, seriously?" asked a bemused Keri.
"See, if you point it at that fire exit," Stephen responded.
To Keri's surprise, a pug breeder called Simon from Alloa walked in with a tiny pug puppy wrapped in a blanket.
"It was wonderful to be able to capture her reaction," says John. "They haven't got a name for her yet but they'll be excited to see her again soon."
The Dumbarton couple, who married at the Lodge on Loch Lomond, are to take home their new "fur baby" once they return from honeymoon.
The happy couple's wedding photos were also able to include some wonderful shots of their new baby pug.
"It was the best day ever and that just topped it all off of course," Keri says.
"Huge thanks to Leven Films for capturing this," adds Stephen.
"John had the technical savvy to know it was important to capture Keriann's reaction as much as our new wee bundle of squashed-face joy.
"She is the runt of her litter and I've only just noticed she has a wee love-heart on the top of her head - could not have chosen a better pug to bring into our lives."
