A stranded boat was rescued by Troon lifeboat and Belfast Coastguard on Tuesday.
Troon's all-weather lifeboat was called out at around 2.15pm to a 27ft vessel experiencing machinery problems.
The team launched their Trent class lifeboat RNLI Jim Moffat to assist the coastguard with the casualty vessel, which was in a position five miles south of Troon.
The boat was then taken under tow back to Troon Marina where it was berthed with the assistance of the Ayr Coastguard Rescue Team and yacht haven staff.
The Trent class was RNLI's first all-weather lifeboat capable of 25 knots and a range of 250 nautical miles, and is named after the River Trent.
