Police in Ayrshire experienced their busiest 72 hours this year over the bank holiday.
Police in Ayrshire experienced their busiest 72 hours this year over the bank holiday.
They received 1320 phone calls, with 295 of them emergency 999 calls which lead to 195 crimes being recorded.
Officers responded to 39 road crashes and 25 people were arrested on warrant.
An Ayrshire Police Division spokesman said: "We had a very busy weekend responding to over 1300 incidents.
"This is the busiest weekend we have reported on to date in our Policing 2026 updates and we are grateful for the support of our partners and members of the community in a variety of incidents since Friday."
Chief Superintendent for Police Scotland and divisional commander at Ayrshire Police Paul Main took to Twitter to comment on the busy weekend.
He wrote: "Ayrshire Police had busiest 72 hrs of year so far. 1300+ calls. A call about every 3 mins. Not holiday weekend for all."
