A 35-year-old man has died after being discovered injured in an Edinburgh residential street.

Police are investigating after receiving a report that a man was hurt in Dumbryden Gardens at 9.25pm on Saturday. They are treating his death as suspicious.

Emergency services attended the scene, where they discovered a man with serious injuries.

He was taken to Edinburgh Royal Infirmary for treatment, but passed away a short time later.

A police spokeswoman said: "Investigations are currently ongoing, however the death is being treated as suspicious.

"Additional officers will be in the local area as inquiries continue.

" Anyone with information that can assist officers is asked to contact Police Scotland on 101."
