Kiara the husky was found nearing the point of exhaustion.
A puppy rescued after becoming trapped underneath a harbour in North Ayrshire has been reunited with its owner.
Kiara the husky was found nearing the point of exhaustion on Monday evening and it was clear she had been in the water for some time.
Ardrossan Coastguard Rescue Team was called out to Irvine harbour shortly after 5pm, where they safely brought her back to shore.
The coastguard team confirmed on their Facebook page that the puppy was reunited with its owner on Wednesday.
They shared a message sent by the owner thanking them for their help in the rescue.
The message read: "I would just like to express my dearest thanks for saving my poor little husky from the water on Monday evening, she managed to get off her leash and ran and we couldn't find her.
"But with the help of the public and your amazing team she is now home safe and sound and back to the pampered pooch she is.
"You saved an adored member of our family and a very large piece of my heart therefor no level of thanks would come even close to how grateful I am!!!!
"Thanks again from all of us, Kiara, and the rest of the families you help on a daily basis."
The coastguard expressed their relief and said: "We are all glad Kiara is recovering well and hope her next visit to the coast is a little bit less dramatic and thank you for your kind words."
