Police horses visit Darvel Primary for health week
Police horses Edinburgh and Nerston visited Darvel Primary on Wednesday.
Pupils at schools across East Ayrshire are taking part in Health Week, with one primary school getting some very special visitors.
Police horses Edinburgh and Nerston visited Darvel Primary on Wednesday with officers from the Police Scotland mounted branch.
Pupils helped with routine training as they made as much noise as possible, simulating a crowd situation, as Edinburgh and Nerston walked calmly past them.
Health week promotes all aspects of the health and well-being indicators - Safe, Active, Healthy, Respected, Achieving, Responsible, Nurtured and Included.
Police campus officer Jemma Davidson said "It was fantastic to see all the children enjoy themselves. They were all so excited when they saw the horses arrive and had some great questions for the team.
"Edinburgh and Nerston were excited to receive a lovely picture from one of the nursery children and they now have it proudly displayed in their stable.
"Pupils have now been invited to enter our drawing competition by drawing pictures of Edinburgh and Nerston and we look forward to seeing the results."
