Deadline extended for Ayrshire Achieves nominations
Voters now have until Friday May 26 to nominate their local heroes.
Voters now have until Friday, May 26, to nominate their local heroes in this year's Ayrshire Achieves awards.
The awards enable local people to recognise the contribution of both health workers and volunteers throughout Ayrshire.
NHS staff and the general public have until next week to nominate health heroes for an award for work, a project or event which has been completed between April 1, 2017, and March 31, 2017.
Awards are open to all members of staff employed by NHS Ayrshire and Arran and the region's three health and social care partnerships, and any unpaid volunteer, group or charity can be considered for the Volunteer of the year.
The awards have nine categories including leading by example, rising star and volunteer of the year.
Stewart Donnelly, employee director of the Ayrshire and Arran NHS Board, said: "We've already received some wonderful entries recognising the many fantastic people, projects and plans that demonstrate the purpose, values and commitments of our organisation.
"We want to give even more people the chance to nominate their health hero, and so we have extended the deadline by another week."
