Car owners urged to be vigilant after recent thefts
It comes after a number of recent thefts from vehicles in Garnock Valley.
Car owners are being urged to be vigilant and make use of their vehicle's security features after recent thefts in North Ayrshire.
The push comes after a number of items were taken from vehicles within the Garnock Valley, which includes Beith, Kilbirnie and Dalry.
Officers are encouraging motorists to double-check cars are locked after use, to ensure car alarms are set and to keep car keys out of sight and in a safe place.
Community policing inspector for the Garnock Valley Jim McMillan said: "I would ask owners of motor vehicles to be extra vigilant and take a few extra seconds to ensure their car is secure and that all property such as satnavs and phones are not on display.
"By following these simple steps residents can reduce the chance of them becoming a victim to thieves."
