Ayr Grammar School could be turned into housing when pupils move into the former Ayr Academy building.

Plans for the building are currently under consideration with a museum option also being considered.

The Grammar school is scheduled for closure and at a recent town hall meeting, residents were quick to share their views.

It was the same on social media with many for and against the proposal.

Shona Quayle said: "It is an iconic building . Let's use it . People who visit old towns want to see the "old town"

Steven Mackie added: "We don't need more houses built. We have plenty."

Darren McNaughton: "So many memories here. If this goes ahead then I hope they build good standard housing."
