'Despicable' thief robbed 100-year-old woman in own home
Police hunt for man who targeted vulnerable and elderly women in Dundee area.
A "despicable" thief robbed a 100-year-old woman in her own home in Dundee.
Officers are investigating a number of distraction thefts in the Stobswell, Maryfield and Douglas areas of the city.
The force believe the same person may be responsible for the crimes and have appealed for the public's help.
Officers are keen to trace a man described as being aged 30 to 35, around 5ft 6in, of thin build and with short brown/blonde hair who may be sleeping rough and may be using a bicycle.
Constable Garrie Watson, of the community investigation unit, said: "These are despicable crimes.
"This man has deliberately targeted the vulnerable and elderly within their own homes, with the oldest victim being a 100-year-old woman.
"I would urge members of the public to provide us with information which would help us to identify and arrest the person responsible."
