A charity bike shop in Edinburgh that was forced to close after a major fire seven months ago is to reopen next week.

The blaze tore through the Bike Station on Causewayside in October and at its height 30 firefighters were called in to tackle it.

In just two weeks, a crowdfunding campaign successfully raised £16,000 to help rebuild the shop, which will open next Tuesday.

Bike Station is Scotland's largest bike recycling charity and it restores unwanted bikes, no matter their age or condition, to promote cycling.

As well as selling bikes, the charity offers cycle training and safety to individuals and groups in the capital.
