The Royal Hospital for Sick Children in Edinburgh, known as the Sick Kids, is to be renamed when it moves to a new home.

It will be called the Royal Hospital for Children and Young People, while the charity supporting it - Sick Kids Friends Foundation - is also rebranding as Edinburgh Children's Hospital Charity.

Many took to social media to share their thoughts and experiences they had at the hospital.

Ines Tait said: "To me, after attending with my daughter for 18 years, it will always be Sick Kids. Amazing place, amazing people, second to none. I will always be eternally grateful to them."

Elvira Cazador said: "(It will always be) Sick kids to me. They saved my son's life when he was two days old, he's now 24."

Emily Keenan Smith added: "All this name changing of hospital's is unnecessary expense."
