A group of Dundee University students are ready to represent their country at a prestigious international law competition later this month.

Four final year scholars have been selected to face hundreds of law students from across the continent at the Telders International Moot Court at The Hague.

Ruby Davies, Christie Allan, Blythe Petrie and Christiane Schleich, a German student on an exchange programme from Passau University, make up the Dundee contingent heading to the Netherlands fom May 17 to 20.

The contest, a mock judicial proceeding, will see the team dispute a fictitious case between two states and defend their position in front of a panel of judges from the International Court of Justice, the highest legal body in the United Nations.

Ruby said: "We are all really delighted to represent Scotland at Telders. It is exciting to think that we will soon be in front of judges who we have all cited in essays for years. They are like legal celebrities to us."
