Ayrshire College space school returning for second year
200 pupils from across Ayrshire will be recruited for the week-long programme.
A college space school giving youngsters the chance to work with Nasa will return to Ayrshire this summer.
Some 50 secondary school pupils from each of East Ayrshire, North Ayrshire and South Ayrshire, as well as 50 Ayrshire College students, will be recruited for the week-long programme.
Ayrshire College hosted programme last year at its Ayr campus but this year will move to the college's new campus in Kilmarnock, which opened in October 2016.
The space school will take place from June 19 - 23.
Heather Dunk, principal of Ayrshire College, said "We are delighted to be hosting Mission Discovery for a second year.
"The programme had such a positive and lasting impact on everyone who was involved last year.
"I would like to thank the Ayrshire College Foundation, Glasgow Prestwick Spaceport, NATS and the Ayr Rotary Club for sponsoring Mission Discovery Ayrshire, which will raise the aspirations of young people by giving them the opportunity to work alongside NASA leaders."
