A doctor has been stabbed in the face outside a medical centre in Greater Manchester.

The locum GP was leaving the Elms Medical Centre in Whitefield when he was attacked by two men wearing hoodies.

He was taken to hospital for emergency surgery, and is understood to have received plastic surgery.

Police have launched an investigation.
