Five Ayrshire businesses have been recognised at this year's Scottish Independent Retail Awards.

The awards, hosted by actress Gina McKie, celebrated their sixth annual ceremony at the Crown Plaza in Glasgow.

Alloway Pharmacy in Ayr bagged the prize for pharmacy of the year, while Flowers by Karen in Kilmarnock won the trophy for florist of the year.

Fishmonger J. Pieroni & Sons in Ayr won the fishmonger category in the south west and was also crowned the overall fishmonger of the year.

The south west convenience retailer prize went to Day Today Lochside in Ayr, which then went on to win convenience retailer of the year.

Brownings the Bakers bagged the south west bakery category and was also named bakery of the year.
