Ayrshire College students helping elderly people get fit
The classes focus on individual targets like improving flexibility or strength.
Ayrshire College students are helping elderly members of the community keep fit at their Kilmarnock Campus.
HND fitness, health and exercise students are working with clients in a personal fitness programme running from October until the end of May.
Elderly people will set their own specific targets to meet, such as improving flexibility or upper body strength.
Roy Munro, 68, from Darvel, said: "I've made friends with a few people through this. I was speaking to one person earlier who told me 'I wish they'd make me go faster on my running machine'."
HND student Gary Irvine, 34, from Kilmarnock, said: "My client has come on leaps and bounds and I can see other students' clients are the same.
"This is what I want my career to be - I'm interested in therapy and not only how I can train people but also rehabilitate people."
