Glasgow aims for UK's first autism-friendly city centre
Council aims to make the city more inclusive and family friendly.
Councillors have pledged to take new steps to make Glasgow the UK's first autism-friendly city centre.
The local authority has pledged to work with Autism Network Scotland on five key objectives focused on high footfall locations such as shopping centres, transport hubs, museums and cinemas.
Objectives include promoting understanding and awareness of autism, increased staff training, making adaptations and improving customer experience.
A workshop detailing how autism can impact on a visit to the city centre was also held in a bid to deepen understanding over the condition.
Autism Network Scotland's Lynsey Stewart said: "We believe this worthwhile project will make a real difference enabling those on the autism spectrum to confidently access community infrastructure such as shopping centres, tourist attractions and public transport."
