A Dundee man is preparing for the race of his life as he prepares to compete in the London Marathon, two years after he was diagnosed with terminal lung cancer.

On Sunday, 60-year-old Eric Hamilton will be among the 50,000 people pounding the capital's pavements as he raises money for the Maggie's Centre.

In 2015, the father-of-three was told he had just three months to live but he has defied the odds, running over 700 miles since September in preparation for this weekend's big race.

Since signing up, he has undergone bio-mechanic analysis at Abertay University with experts putting him through his paces to optimise his training and help him avoid injuries.

Next on Eric's bucket list is running up and down Ben Nevis, a challenge he hopes to complete this summer.
