Man arrested in connection with rape in Glasgow lane
A 31-year-old man was arrested and is in police custody over the attack on Friday.
A 31-year-old man has been arrested after a 36-year-old woman was raped in a Glasgow city centre lane.
The alleged incident took place near Renfrew Street and Charing Cross as the woman was walking through the lane between 4am and 4.30am on Friday.
Police later cordoned off the area and issued an appeal for information.
Police Scotland confirmed that a man has been arrested and is in custody.
A report is being submitted to the procurator fiscal and the man is expected to appear at Glasgow Sheriff Court on Wednesday.
