Manhunt after baby dies and second one-year-old injured
Major search for suspect under way after the children were found with serious injuries.
A major manhunt for a suspect is under way over a "domestic" incident that left a one-year-old boy dead and a girl of the same age critically injured.
Bidhya Sagar Das, 33, is wanted by police who have opened a murder investigation into the death of the child.
Officers were called to the flat near Finsbury park in north London at around 11pm on Saturday night.
The two children, who are thought to be twins, were found seriously injured inside the property.
The boy died in hospital while the girl is in a critical condition.
Police said the incident was believed to be domestic, and Mr Das lives in the same property as the two children.
Mihai Manea, 29, who lives below the flat where the children were found, said the girl and boy were twins with a Romanian mother and Indian father.
Another neighbour said she heard a woman shouting "My kids" from inside the property on Saturday night.
A woman living opposite the building, who gave her name as Gui Gui, said she had opened the window to offer help after hearing the commotion.
"I was watching TV," she said. "I heard someone was shouting.
"She kept on shouting. I do not know what she was shouting.
"I opened the window and I asked her 'Can I help you, can I call the police for you?'
"She said, 'My kids'."
