At least 35 firefighters battled a suspicious blaze at a toy store in Dundee overnight.

The fire took hold at the Toys R Us in Kingsway West Retail Park shortly after midnight on Friday.

Seven crews battled to bring the incident under control at the loading bay and no one was injured.

They were stood down at 2.50am after making the area safe.

The loading bay and a trailer were damaged in the incident, while there was also smoke damage to the building.

A spokesman said: "The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service was alerted at 12.34am on Friday, March 3 to reports of a fire at a business premises at Kingsway West Retail Park in Dundee.

"A total of seven appliances attended and extinguished the fire using high-power hoses.

"There were no casualties and crews ensured the area was made safe before leaving the scene."

Police Scotland confirmed it was investigating the fire and issued a description of a suspect seen in the area.

They want to trace a man who was wearing a light hooded top and dark coloured trousers or jogging bottoms.

Anyone who was in the area at the time and has information that could assist officers with their enquiries is asked to contact Police Scotland on 101.
