Missing pensioner's car found during large-scale search
James Morton, 88, was last seen in the Perthshire village of Guildtown on Tuesday morning.
A car belonging to a missing pensioner has been found as part of a large-scale search for him.
James Morton, 88, was last seen in Oakbank Place in the village of Guildtown, Perthshire, on Tuesday at 8.30am.
Police have been using their dog unit in the search, which has also included the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service and mountain rescue teams.
The searches are focusing on the Campsie area of Perthshire.
On Thursday, officers confirmed Mr Morton's car, a Silver Peugeot 207 with registration KN62VML, was discovered near the River Tay.
The force said "concerns are increasing" for the welfare of the pensioner.
Mr Morton is described as being 5ft 10in, with white receding grey hair and when last seen he was wearing a light cloth cap, red and white checked shirt, navy blue jumper, a brown anorak with grey trousers and boots.
He walks with the aid of a stick and may have this with him.
