Concern mounts for missing elderly dementia sufferer
William Scott, 88, was last seen leaving his home in Elliot Road in Edinburgh on Wednesday.
Concerns are growing for an an elderly dementia sufferer who has gone missing in Edinburgh.
William Scott was last seen leaving his home in Elliot Road in the Craiglockhart area at around 1.30pm on Wednesday.
Police are keen to trace the 88-year-old, who has not been in touch with family or friends since then.
He is described as white, 4ft 10in to 5ft, bald with grey hair round the side, and he has cuts on his nose and chin.
When last seen he was wearing a grey three-quarter-length coat and may also have a chequered bonnet.
Inspector Neil Whiteside said: "William lives with dementia and as such we are eager to locate him as soon as possible to ensure he is all right.
"He is known to frequent the city centre including Lothian Road and Leith Walk and so we currently have officers searching in these areas.
"Anyone who has seen him since 1.30pm, or who has any other information that can assist with our inquiries, should contact police immediately."
