Schoolboy, 12, goes missing from his home in Greenock
Officers looking for Nathan McDermott are checking CCTV in the town and in Drumchapel.
Police are reviewing CCTV images after a 12-year-old boy went missing on Thursday afternoon.
Nathan McDermott was last seen at his home in Nicolson Street, Greenock, around 12.50pm.
As well as speaking to his friends and family officers are checking CCTV in two areas of Greenock, where he lives, Clyde Square in the town and Drumchapel, where he is known to visit.
So far there has been no trace of Nathan.
He is described white, slim and approximately 5ft 8in, with short ginger hair and blue eyes.
When last seen he was wearing a black Armani hooded top and black Armani tracksuit bottoms with blue and grey Nike Air Max trainers.
Sergeant Kyle MacDougall, of Greenock Police Station, said: "Nathan is a young boy and although he has been missing once before, it's not like him to be out of contact with family for this length of time.
"I would appeal to him, or anyone who knows where he is, to contact police as soon as possible."
