Third man charged after murder of former junior footballer

A third man has been charged following the murder of a former junior footballer on New Year's Day.
Shaun Woodburn, 30, died after a disturbance broke out on Great Junction Street in Leith, Edinburgh, in the early hours of January 1.
A 16-year-old boy from Edinburgh, who cannot be named for legal reasons, has appeared in court charged with murder.
A second teenager, 18-year-old Mohammed Zakariyah, also from the capital, has been charged with assault to injury and an offence under the Criminal Justice Licensing (Scotland) Act.
Police confirmed on Monday that a third person had been arrested in connection with the incident.
A police spokesman said: "A 31-year-old man was charged with possession of an offensive weapon following an incident on Great Junction Street in Edinburgh on January 1.
"The charge is connected to the incident following which 30-year-old Shaun Woodburn sadly lost his life, but is not believed to be connected to Shaun's death."
Mr Woodburn, who played for junior football team Bonnyrigg Rose for three years, was described as a "true gentleman" and "fantastic and loving" father who "didn't have a bad word to say about anyone".
A minute's applause was held for Hibernian supporter Mr Woodburn during the Leith club's match with Dundee United on Friday night.
