The police watchdog has submitted a report to prosecutors over the death of a man who was making his way home from T in the Park.

The Police Investigations and Review Commissioner (PIRC) launched a probe after James Richardson was found dead by the A9 in Perthshire.

The father from Wishaw in North Lanarkshire was found in the Forteviot area on July 12 last year following the event at Strathallan Castle.

He had last been seen walking at the roadside at lunchtime the previous day.

The investigation focused on the initial police response to a report of concern for the 29-year-old's welfare.

On Thursday, PIRC confirmed it had concluded its investigation into Mr Richardson's death.

Commissioner Kate Frame's findings have been submitted to the Crown Office and procurator fiscal for consideration.
