Rabbit and guinea pigs found dumped in middle of road
The Scottish SPCA issues an appeal after the animals were abandoned in plastic boxes in Dunblane.
A rabbit and two guinea pigs have been rescued after they were found dumped in the middle of a road.
A member of the public found the trio of animals abandoned on the road next to Keir House in Dunblane, Stirlingshire.
They were left in plastic boxes with bedding, food and water, sparking a Scottish SPCA appeal for information.
Named Ellie, Diego and Sid by staff, they are now in the care of the charity's animal rescue and rehoming centre in Dundee.
Centre manager Elliot Hay said: "The animals did not appear to have been mistreated and apart from long nails and some slightly matted hair, they are in good condition.
"The boxes could have easily been hit by an oncoming car. We are appealing for anyone who has any information or noticed any suspicious activity.
"We urge you to get in touch with our animal helpline on 03000 999 999."
