Man's death at property in Fife treated as suspicious
Police were called to a flat in Victoria Road, Kirkcaldy, at around 5am on Monday.
A man has died at a flat in Fife in suspicious circumstances, police have said.
Officers were called to the property in Victoria Road, Kirkcaldy, at about 5am on Monday following a report a man had died.
The Scottish Ambulance Service also attended and pronounced the man dead at the scene.
Police said another man was found to have suffered non life-threatening injuries and was taken to Victoria Hospital for treatment.
Detective chief inspector Keith Hardie, of Police Scotland's major investigation team, said: "We're confident that this man has died in suspicious circumstances and a thorough investigation is currently under way.
"As part of our enquiries we continue to ask anyone who has information which may be relevant to come forward.
"Specifically, anyone who may have seen suspicious behaviour in the Victoria Road area between 4am and 5am is urged to get in touch as soon as possible."
Local officers are supporting the investigation team and have stepped up their presence in the area.
Inspector Graeme Neill, of Kirkcaldy police station, said: "Although there is not believed to be any risk to the wider public, there will be an increase in high-visibility patrols in the area over the forthcoming days."
