Police remain concerned for missing girl despite sighting
A search has been launched for Lavina Rose Devine, 14, after she went missing in Edinburgh.
Police say they remain concerned for a missing teenager girl despite a sighting of her.
Lavina Rose Devine, 14, reported missing after she left the company of a family friend at the Tesco petrol station on Willowbrae Road in Edinburgh around 9pm on Wednesday.
There was another sighting of her in the city's Newhaven area around 4am on Sunday.
On Monday, police renewed their appeal for information on her whereabouts.
Lavina is white with a slim build, around 5ft 7in in height, with shoulder length brown hair, blue eyes, and a fair complexion.
She also has a tattoo on the back of her neck saying "DAD". She is believed to have wearing a black coat with a fur hood.
Inspector William Falconer of Howdenhall Police Station said: "While there has been a sighting of Lavina, we remain concerned for her welfare and we are still eager to trace her.
"If Lavina sees this appeal, I would ask her to get in contact with either the police or her family. You will not be in trouble, we only want to know that you're safe.
"Anyone who has seen Lavina, or recognises her description and can help us trace her, is asked to get in touch with us immediately."
