Three police cars have been damaged in an alleged high-speed chase on the A90.

The pursuit reportedly began when a vehicle failed to stop near Peterhead, Aberdeenshire, at around 9am on Monday and ended at 9.20am near Blackdog.

Nobody was injured but at least two police vehicle are believed to have been damaged.

Four people have have been taken into custody.

A Police Scotland spokeswoman said: "Four people are in custody following a reported incident on the A90 this morning.

"No one has been injured and enquiries are ongoing."
