Cyclist seriously injured after being struck by car on A82
The collision happened at around midday on Sunday near to the Erskine Bridge.
A male cyclist is in a serious condition in hospital after being hit by a car on the A82 near to the Erskine Bridge.
At around midday on Sunday, the man was cycling along the road from the Kilbowie Roundabout towards the Erskine Bridge when he was struck by a Vauxhall Mokka.
The cyclist was rushed by paramedics to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital, where staff describe his condition as serious.
The driver of the car was uninjured and did not need medical treatment.
The road remains closed off with diversions in place so crash scene investigators can finish examining the scene.
A spokesperson for Police Scotland said: "Road policing officers are appealing to motorists who were on the A82 either travelling eastbound or westbound to contact them.
"They are appealing for any dash cam footage which could assist their enquiry and anyone who witnessed the incident or anyone with any information is asked to call road policing officers at Dumbarton Police Office via 101."
A spokesman for the Scottish Ambulance Service said: "We received multiple calls reporting a serious road traffic Incident at 12.10pm.
"An ambulance and a specialist trauma team attended the incident and have taken a male to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in a serious condition."
