A 28-year-old man has been accused of carrying out a bank robbery that sparked a major police manhunt over just £65.

Ross McNab is alleged to have carried out a raid on the Dunkeld branch of the Bank of Scotland on November 29.

McNab appeared from custody at Perth Sheriff Court on Friday and denied robbing £65 from bank teller James MacKinnon while he was working in the branch.

He appeared on a summary complaint and will face trial in March 2017.

A large-scale police operation was launched after a man wearing a hooded top entered the Perthshire bank and allegedly demanded cash from staff before leaving.

Police sought help from members of the public in identifying the robber and CCTV images were distributed as part of an appeal for information.
