A man has been ordered to appear in court charged with repeatedly being naked on a popular peak.

Paul Edney, 56, is alleged to have been publicly naked on the 418m (1371ft) Dumyat hill, near Stirling, on six occasions since 2013.

Dumyat, which towers above the national Wallace Monument and Stirling University, is part of the Ochils range.

The hill is popular with walkers and it is alleged members of the public were present on each occasion that Edney was allegedly there.

At Stirling Sheriff Court on Friday Edney, of Dollar, Clackmannanshire, who was not personally present, pleaded not guilty by letter to six charges alleging he committed offences of public indecency by nakedness.

Sheriff Christopher Shead continued the case for trial on March 27, 2017, with a preliminary hearing on March 7.
