A ten-year-old girl who is among over 40 orphans stranded in eastern Aleppo has made an appeal for help leave the besieged city.

Yasmin Qarmuz has been living at the orphanage for two years after her parents were killed in bombings.

In a video appeal, she said was sending a message to human rights organisations and others as it might be the last time "you hear my voice and see me," after the rebel-held area fell to Syrian government forces.

Surrounding by other children who have lost their parents, the young girl said: "I wish you would get us out of Aleppo."

"Here there are 47 children - they are all my brothers and sisters. We're all wishing we can leave Aleppo and eat and drink.

"Here we all love peace, we can't go out because of the planes and the bombing.

"We are really afraid of the planes and bombing. We wish you could finally get us out of Aleppo. We want to live like the rest of the world."
