A man has been detained following the deaths of two people at a flat in Dundee, which police are now treating as suspicious.

The discovery of the bodies, at Rosefield Street on Monday, led to a major police investigation.

Police said the deaths of the man and woman had been "sudden" and were now being treated as suspicious.

Officers are looking at CCTV footage and speaking to local residents as part of their enquiries.

Detectives which to speak to anyone who saw anything suspicious in the area between Thursday and Sunday last week.

A man has been detained in relation to the investigation, Police Scotland said.

Detective inspector Brian Geddes, who is leading the investigation, said, "I would be keen to hear from anyone who heard or saw anything suspicious in the Rosefield Street area, in the days between Thursday, December 8 and Sunday, December 11."

Anyone with any information has been asked to contact Tayside Division on 101 or any police officer.
