Man 'stabbed to death at party celebrating life of dead friend'
Police say they do not believe the murders are linked and are treating them as separate incidents.
A man has been stabbed to death at a party to celebrate the life of his friend who was the victim of a knife attack just 24 hours earlier, it is reported.
The 38-year-old was found with stab wounds to his chest in Mill View Close in Sneinton, Nottingham in the early hours of Sunday. He later died of his injuries.
It came just one day after Martin Maughan, 27, was stabbed to death less than a mile away in West Walk, Sneinton.
It is understood the two victims were friends and that the second victim was having a party to celebrate the life of his pal when he was stabbed, the BBC reported.
Chief Inspector Mark Stanley, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: "The murders are not believed to be linked and we're treating them as separate incidents."
A 19-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of the West Walk murder.
Police said a 43-year-old man was also being held on suspicion of murder.
There have been no arrests yet in relation to the second killing.
Anyone with any information about either incident is asked to call Nottinghamshire Police on 101.
