Police have cordoned off an area beside a loch in Edinburgh near the spot where a missing French student was last seen.

Antoine Maury has not been seen since he left his friends near Edinburgh College halls at around 10.30pm on Monday, October 24.

The last known sighting of the 21-year-old was shortly after that near Duddingston Loch in Holyrood Park.

Officers were called back to the area on Friday morning in a move as part of the search for Mr Maury.

The road leading from Duddingston village to the loch was closed and officers could be seen near the water.
