Man in critical condition after attack by two men in Aberdeen
The 28-year-old is being treated at Aberdeen Royal Infirmary following the early-hours assault.
A man is fighting for his life in hospital after being attacked by two men in Aberdeen city centre.
The 28-year-old suffered serious injuries in the assault, which took place in Union Street at around 5.30am on Saturday.
He was taken to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary, where staff describe his condition as critical.
Police have appealed for witnesses and issued descriptions of the suspects.
The first suspect is described as 6ft, with a heavy build and dark hair. He wore a grey t-shirt and dark jeans.
The second man is 5ft 9in, with short grey hair, and described as wearing a brown bomber-style jacket and dark blue jeans.
Detective inspector Norman Stevenson said: "Whilst this happened in the early hours of the morning, I would appeal to anyone who saw it happen or any part of it, to come forward and tell us what they saw."
