Police operation underway after gunman entered retirement home for monks in south-west France.
One person has been found dead at a retirement home for monks after a gunman stormed the building.
Around 70 monks reportedly live at the home near Montpellier, in south west France.
Initial reports suggested the man was armed with a knife and a sawn-off shotgun when he entered the home.
Police are now hunting the suspect, but say there is "no indication" at this stage that the attack was a "terrorist attack".
