Man charged after more than £60,000 of heroin seized

A man has been charged with an attempt to smuggle drugs into prison after more than £60,000 of heroin was seized in Edinburgh.
Heroin worth £11,000 and mobile phones were recovered near HMP Edinburgh on Saturday, November 5.
Further enquiries led to the discovery of £50,000 of the drug at a house in Loganlea Terrace, Craigentinny, on November 18.
Police Scotland confirmed a 47-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection with the sale and supply of drugs in Edinburgh, including an attempt to introduce controlled drugs and other items into the jail.
He is due to appear at Edinburgh Sherriff Court on Monday.
Detective sergeant Gary Reid said: "Tackling the sale and supply of controlled drugs is a top priority for Police Scotland and the disruption of all drug-related activity including around HMP Edinburgh is of the utmost importance to us.
"The toll of illegal substances on our society is incalculable. We continue to work to bring to justice and hold to account those who supply drugs in our community."
