A driver had to be freed by firefighters after a crash involving a bus and a car in Fife.

The Stagecoach bus and Ford Fusion collided at the junction between Main Street and the B939 at Strathkinness, near St Andrews, on Thursday morning.

Four fire engines, an ambulance and police were sent to the scene at around 9am.

Firefighters cut the female driver out of her car before she was taken to hospital.

The bus driver was treated by paramedics at the scene and the 13 passengers were not hurt.

The road was closed and motorists were advised to follow local diversions.
