A father has been sentenced to 12 years in prison for killing his two-month-old baby.

Easton Robinson from Nottingham has been found guilty of killing his two-month-old son after causing a fatal head injury.

Easton Robinson from St Ann's was convicted of the manslaughter of Eden Robinson, following a trial at Nottingham Crown Court.

The court heard Easton Robinson was caring for his child at his home on the morning of Saturday, 8 November 2014 when the baby became very ill.

Robinson called the baby's mother to say that there is "something wrong with him" and that there was a lot of phlegm coming from the baby's mouth and nose.

Examinations showed bleeding on the baby's brain consistent with a traumatic head injury. A consultant neurologist stated the injuries were comparable to a shaking-type injury.

Easton Robinson denied harming the child in any way from the moment of his arrest on the 11 November 2014.

He was charged with murder but was found guilty of manslaughter.
