Police are probing a number of deliberate fire-raising incidents in a Clackmannanshire town.

A Halloween decoration and wicker hanging basket, which were attached to Muirside Farm Cottage in Tullibody, were set alight at around 8pm on Wednesday.

The incident did not cause any major fire damage to the family home.

Two similar events occurred the next evening. The first happened between 9.45pm and 10.30pm at Dovecot, where a child's pram that had been left at the door of a house was deliberately set alight and destroyed.

Two wheelie bins were then set on fire at the Lodge Ladywell between 11pm and 1am.

The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service (SFRS) attended and the blaze was quickly extinguished.

The fire caused extensive damage to the rendering of the outside of the building.

A joint investigation is being undertaken by Police Scotland and SFRS and it has been determined that all three fires had been started deliberately.

Police said there is a possibility the three incidents are linked.

A spokesperson for Police Scotland said: "Fortunately, no one was injured as a result of these fires, however, it could have had much more serious consequences.

"We are eager to speak to any witnesses who may have been in these areas of Tullibody at the relevant times, anyone with information that may assist us in our enquiries is asked to come forward immediately.

"Please contact your local police by calling 101 or reporting concerns via Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111."
