An Australian backpacker has been found alive after spending two weeks missing in a remote Malaysian National park.
Andrew Gaskell was hiking alone in the Gunung Mulu National park on October 20, in the Malaysian state of Sarawak, when he got lost.
The 26-year-old engineer was found on Tuesday afternoon in a weakened condition by the search and rescue teams.
Several leeches were found on his legs.
Despite being emaciated from his ordeal, he was conscious and able to speak.
In a Facebook post on Wednesday, he admitted he "did not have permission to be on that trail" and wanted to "deeply apologise" for any inconvenience or trouble caused.
