Three more boys charged over huge blaze at former school
The fire gutted the old Wellbrae Primary School in Forfar, Angus, earlier this month.
Three more boys have been charged after a fire ripped through a former primary school.
The blaze gutted the Wellbrae Primary School building in Forfar, Angus, at around 7pm on Saturday, October 22.
Two 12-year-old boys were previously charged in connection with the fire, which devastated the property in Wellbraehead.
On Monday, Police Scotland confirmed a 12-year-old boy and two 11-year-olds have been charged over the incident as well.
A force spokeswoman added: "A report will be submitted to the youth justice assessor for consideration."
At the height of the blaze, around 50 firefighters were involved in battling the flames.
The school was closed by Angus Council in 2008 and has been used as a community church facility. It has been vacant for several years.
Property developers Taylor Shepherd Homes lodged a planning application with the council in June to convert the C-listed school building into 16 residential units.
