A man has appeared in court charged with the murder of a 26-year-old man in Aberdeen.

Robert Reid was found dead in a flat on Arnage Place in the Mastrick area of the city on Wednesday morning.

On Friday, Darren Barnes, known as Riley, appeared in private at the city's sheriff court.

The 28-year-old made no plea or declaration to a charge of murder and was remanded in custody.

The case was continued for further examination and the accused was remanded in custody.
