Apologetic five-year-old meets Celtic heroes after missing match
Louis Kayes was invited to meet manager Brendan Rogers and captain Scott Brown after missing a game.
When a young football fan called Celtic to apologise for his absence at a recent game, he never thought he would later come face-to-face with his heroes.
Five-year-old Louis Kayes was invited to meet manager Brendan Rogers and captain Scott Brown, after they were "touched" by his apologetic phone call.
Louis got the chance to travel to the club's Lennoextown training ground to snap some pictures with his Hoops heroes and add some famous signatures to his Celtic strip.
Mother Lisa said: "It has been the craziest week of our lives. The phone hasn't stopped ringing since the story came out about Louis' phone-call to Celtic Park but when we were told he could come to Lennoxtown and meet Scott Brown and Brendan Rodgers he was just stunned.
"We told him last night before he went to his Halloween disco and when he got there I think everybody in the school knew as it was all he talked about.
"Seeing them this morning, he was just a bit stunned, and I don't think he could believe he actually met them.
"He eats, breathes and sleeps Celtic."
Louis called the club last week to say sorry for not being able to make Celtic's game against Motherwell because he was at a birthday party.
Lisa said: "He put the phone on loud speaker and all I could hear was 'hi, you're through to Celtic Park'. I asked what he was doing and he said 'I'm just phoning Celtic Park to tell them I couldn't be there'.
"I said he would be costing me a fortune. I cut him off so he didn't leave a message but at that point he was laughing."
Despite missing the match, Louis was overjoyed to hear his team won 2-0 in front of 54,000 fans who could make it along.
Lisa added: "It has been amazing for him and I think we'll be hearing about this for a long time.
"I'm chuffed to bits for him and I couldn't believe it when Celtic phoned and said to bring him up to Lennoxtown."
