A stand-off with a man who barricaded himself into his house for three days has been brought to an end after police stormed the property.
Armed officers forced their way into the house in Northolt, west London at around 8.10pm on Sunday arrested a 46-year-old man.
The man, who was feared to be armed with petrol and other explosives, was detained on suspicion of cultivating cannabis, affray and offences under the explosives act.
There is no suggestion the incident was terror-related or linked to any other ongoing police operation or investigation.
Up to 80 people were evacuated from properties in the immediate area but residents have since been allowed to return home.
Chief Superintendent Paul Martin said he was relived the incident had been brought to a safe end.
